yes, it's been a few weeks, but they have been chock-full of ... well, stuff! coolest things first: my troupe appeared on the front page of the contra costa times, online and in print, with some great pictures to boot! it was a promo piece for the fire arts expo, which loyal readers will know, i missed performing in because i was in portland for the weekend with my mom! bittersweet, yes. portland was great: we ate, walked around tons, and shopped. i would love to spend an entire weekend browsing through powell's - the best bookstore in the world. as for the fire arts expo, my troupe KICKED ASS! at least, that's what everyone tells me :-) but of course i believe them! i will link to pics once i get some up. speaking of pictures, here are some from the pink mammoth fundraiser we did at supperclub a couple of weeks ago. that's laura & robin with fire on the bar.
been running a lot - six miles is the norm these days. it's fabulous to head out into the sunshiney hills for full hour after work! have missed a few yoga classes, unfortunately, but that may get back on track starting next week. we shall see. as long as i can get outside and run, though, it's all good.
coming up: ministry on friday, yee-ha! can't wait to hang out with them again, too... our first fac burning man meeting on thursday... pixie photoshoot next tuesday with kalimama... yosemite next weekend... so much going on this summer! salem, whitewater, the fire arts festival... i promise to post pictures & let you all know what the crazy fire kids are up to! for now, back to the sunshine.

inquiring minds want to know
about the fire show i went to the other week. well, i only have a minute to post, but in short, here's what i thought. it was cool. the stage space was awesome - just what you want to perform on. there were tons of performers. after an hour and a half, it got pretty tiring (for me, anyway), since there was a lot of repetition of the moves - a lot of similar dance style, which makes sense, since all of the performers were from the same school. sean & prisna, who usually spin with IK, came in for a set & that was a great way to break it up - it was nice to see a different style of dance, and those two are amazing always. a lot of the partner moves were really cool, too. all in all, it was cool to see, and a great opportunity for all of the performers. it was also very, very cold out & dave & i left before it ended, so someone else might have a better idea of what the grand finale was like.
sorry my review is so short and that i didn't use a thesaurus for all of the times i said "cool."
gotta run. more later.
